The Ghana government and the National Petroleum Authority commissioned us to develop technology for overseeing the implementation of the new LPG Cylinder Recirculation Program. This initiative addresses a critical safety crisis, aiming to eliminate LPG-filling related accidents that have tragically caused multiple fatalities over the years.
Additionally, the program aimed to promote LPG usage, thereby reducing Ghana's dependence on fossil fuels. It involved key stakeholders such as producers, marketers, and regulators in the LPG industry.
We began by mapping out the entire value chain, identifying various stakeholders such as manufacturers, bottling plants, delivery services, exchange points, regulators, and end consumers. During this initial stage, we invested several weeks in conducting interviews at each step, gathering insights into the pain points and existing processes.
Leveraging the gathered data, our team to formulate detailed requirements from each stakeholder within the value chain. We developed journey maps for different user types, outlining their preferred workflows. We designed wireframes to illustrate the desired user experience for each stakeholder and their respective workflow.
Every stakeholder required a thorough breakdown of cylinders, categorized by size and classification, along with the annual targets set for the year.
An essential functionality for both regulators and marketers was to have precise information about the geographical location of LPG cylinders and their assigned customers.
Marketers can effortlessly monitor their orders, including their status (Pending, Delivered, Cancelled), and the corresponding customers assigned to these cylinders.
